It’s one of the most beautiful parts of our wee patch of Scotland, and an absolute treat for the eyes.
The stunning gardens are something of a celebrity here in Crieff, and it really is no wonder they've made it to the big screen. You might recognise them from the hit TV series Outlander, and while playing the part of Rob Roy in the movie with the same name, Liam Neeson had the pleasure of working in the gardens too. The beautiful gardens are a must see when visiting Crieff, particularly if you catch them on a nice sunny day.
Looking down from the castle you'll get to take in the sheer magnitude of the gardens, and panoramic views of the perfectly manicured trees and formal planting.
Only a five-minute drive from us, you’ll approach the castle through a single-track beech-tree lined avenue. The tall trees give a suitably grand introduction to one of the nicest gardens you’ll ever see.
Don’t forget to stop in at the kitchen gardens and glasshouses. They provide the fruit and veggies for the house, and the plants that feature in the gardens are grown here too. If they’ve got some extra produce, you might be lucky enough to take a few home.
The gardens are built into the side of a steep hillside with several flights of steps. While this makes for an excellent platform to view the gardens from, it can be a bit of a struggle for buggies and wheelchairs. If your dog’s got a nose for a beautiful garden, they’re welcome here too.
