Perthshire:
The beautiful Strathearn Valley - plenty of hills, rivers, lochs, and trees for your lovely four-legged friend to explore. Our 900-acre estate surrounding Crieff Hydro Hotel is the pawfect playground, and our self-catering properties are dog-friendly. Unfortunately, dogs aren’t able to come into the hotel at the moment (except guide, hearing, or other assistance dogs).
Just around the corner lies our Murraypark Hotel, where dogs are welcome as well. Explore the nooks and crannies of the lovely gardens or chill out in the hotel. Not to mention the incredible walks in and around Crieff:
Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Perth and Kinross, Crieff offers a delightful array of dog-friendly walks that showcase the beauty of the Scottish countryside. One of the most cherished routes is the Lady Mary's Walk, a riverside trail that meanders alongside the River Earn. Shaded by towering trees, this path provides a serene atmosphere for both you and your furry companion.
MacRosty Park, with its lush greenery and vibrant flower beds, is another favoured destination. Dogs can roam freely in designated areas while you take in the views of the surrounding hills. For a more challenging adventure, the Knock of Crieff offers a moderately steep hike that rewards breath-taking panoramic views at its summit. With its blend of riverside walks, park strolls, and hillside explorations, Crieff provides a variety of options to suit every dog walker's preference.
The Borders:
Peebles, historically the main town of the royal burgh, Peebleshire. Nowadays, it's home to two of our hotels, Peebles Hydro Hotel and The Park Hotel. Both of our Borders hotels are dog-friendly, meaning they can enjoy the rolling hills and the cool water of the River Tweed.
Now, onto our favourite walks. The Tweed Valley is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and their canine companions, with the iconic Neidpath Castle providing a captivating backdrop to the scenic riverside paths. A leisurely stroll along the banks of the River Tweed unveils breath-taking vistas of rolling hills and tranquil waters, creating a serene escape for both you and your four-legged friend.
The nearby Glentress Forest is a haven for adventure seekers, featuring a network of trails that cater to various fitness levels. Dogs will revel in the freedom to explore alongside you through towering pine trees and babbling streams. The beauty of Glentress extends to the viewpoints that offer sweeping panoramas of the surrounding landscape – a well-earned reward after a satisfying hike.
For a touch of history and culture, the town of Peebles itself boasts charming streets and a welcoming atmosphere. The Hay Lodge Park, a verdant oasis within the town, provides a serene space for leisurely walks with your dog amidst well-tended gardens and tranquil ponds. Whether it's the riverside tranquillity, forested adventures, or the quaint streets of Peebles, the Borders offer an array of dog-walking experiences that capture the essence of this captivating region.
Highlands:
Red deer, hares, pine martens...your four-legged friend will be amongst the best of Scottish wildlife in Glencoe and the Highlands. At Kingshouse Hotel, your dog(s) will have a whole new environment to explore. Get outside in the crisp, fresh air, or relax in front of the cosy fire. At Isles of Glencoe Hotel and Ballachulish Hotel, Loch Linnhe is on your doorstep. Heading north to the captivating landscapes of the Scottish Highlands around Ballachulish and Glencoe unveils a realm of rugged beauty and wild terrain perfect for memorable dog walks.
